San Francisco’s real estate market is surging, driven by the city’s booming AI startup scene. Rents and home prices are climbing faster than anywhere else in the U.S., with September seeing major gains in luxury sales and listings under contract. While new listings have risen, overall inventory and price cuts have dropped sharply, intensifying competition. October data will reveal whether this momentum continues before the usual holiday slowdown.

In a turbulent world, many are seeking out safe-haven assets.... including real estate that also can fluctuate in value, but never goes to zero, and retains value and usually grows in value over extended periods of time

   

• The real estate industry makes up anywhere from 14 -18% of the US’s GDP. A coming boom could have an enormous impact on the U.S. economy. Sellers, builders, contractors, lawyers, accountants, brokers, insurers, retailers and countless other small- and mid-sized businesses that are both directly and indirectly connected to this industry will benefit. For this to happen mortgage rates will have to fall below 5.5%: almost two-thirds of mortgage holders have rates between 3 - 6%. (THE HILL)
