Looking ahead to 2024, the San Francisco real estate market is positioned for a comeback. For the last 1.5 months mortgage rates have fallen significantly and earlier last week the Federal Reserve kept rates unchanged and projected three quarter-point rate cuts in 2024 given an improved inflation outlook. Lower rates will spur home buying so this is great news for buyers and sellers.
This positive economic guidance provides us with a high level of confidence that we may return to the days of sub 5% interest rates (for ARM products) by this time next year. That would be a ~1.5% drop from current interest rate levels. Moreover, if we experience a modest recession the first half of next year, as some economists predict, we may see rates lower even faster.

Trio of Easy Appetizers
On a recent Sunday, Chris and I decided to host a last minute, holiday happy-hour at our home. As someone who tends to overthink things (#2024goals), we decided to keep it really easy and just serve appetizers. Whether hosting or bringing them to your next party, you can't go wrong with these super simple recipes.

Which books make the best gifts? It all depends on the recipient, but this diverse array of keepsake volumes has something for everyone on your list.
If there's still time, I highly recommend calling your neighborhood bookstore to see if they have your title in stock or if they can order it for you. Black Bird Books, Green Apple and Folio to suggest a few.

Nest on Fillmore Street
Named "One of the 50 hottest interiors shops in the world" by Living, Etc., Nest features an eclectic collection of treasures - Rustic antiques, fine jewelry, quirky and cool accessories, beautiful home decor items, vintage books, handblocked linens, and dozens of one-of-a-kind finds and hand-made items. This is definitely one of my favorite shops in SF, where you can find something unique for everyone on your list. Last year I found a 1st edition Henry Miller book for Chris.
